My Investment Philosophy
Five Ts. One question: can this become an enduring business?
Thought
Great ideas are not trivial. I look for insight into a real problem, why the timing is right and how a bold thought can become a clear plan. An idea is the starting point; the ability to execute gives it weight.
Team
Can the founders build, adapt and lead? Are their skills complementary? How long have they known each other, and how have they handled difficult decisions together? Shared values and founder chemistry matter. If the chemistry is good, the maths can often be made to work.
Technology
Does the technology create real differentiation and the potential for non-linear growth? Can the business serve many more customers without costs rising in the same proportion? I look for defensibility, reliability, practical adoption and the ability to scale responsibly.
Traction
Evidence beats enthusiasm. Meaningful signals can be paying customers, repeat use, retention, partnerships, unit economics or demonstrated adoption, judged in the context of the company's stage.
TAM
Total Addressable Market is the full market opportunity, not the company's forecast. What portion is realistically reachable, what will it take to win and how attractive can the economics become?
These are not five isolated boxes to tick. A thoughtful idea needs a team that can execute. Strong technology needs real customers. Traction needs a market that can sustain the journey. And throughout, founders must keep learning.
